Chief Superintendent (ret) RCMP Lloyd Hickman
Hickman is a retired member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) with over 37 years of service. As a highly evaluated member throughout his service, Hickman saw early promotions to the ranks of Sergeant, Inspector, Superintendent and Chief Superintendent with policing duties in virtually every province and many foreign countries.
His diverse policing experience includes all phases of operational, administrative and protective duties. He has vast experience in reorganization and restructuring, development and implementation of managerial reviews, audits, risk assessments, and restorative justice.
Having occupied leadership roles in many key aspects of the RCMP organization, Hickman has provided extensive liaison with elected officials at the federal, provincial and municipal levels, with senior government officials at all levels, with law enforcement agencies, with the Canadian military and with foreign officials and dignitaries.
In August 2001, Hickman was appointed as the G8 Summit Security Coordinator. At that time, this was the largest police security operation ever held in Canada. This event took place in the immediate aftermath of 9-11 and against a background of increasing global violence directed at international summits.
Since his retirement in 2003, Hickman has continued to work as a consultant to both government and private companies in a variety of fields, and has sat as a board member of public, government and not-forprofit boards.
